The season started off with us playing playing our first league game against Pickering. We lost to them 5-2. After we played them we went on to our first tournament in East York. Even though we did not win, we came away knowing that we were the only team to come within one goal of the top ranked U-12 team in the CSL. Woodbridge is tops in the regional division and we were able to hold them to a 2-1 loss. After that tournament we then played in the CSL cup game which we as a team hosted here in Claringlon. Teams from within Durham, Toronto, Woodbridge and Kleinburg came to play their cup game at Hydro Field. Our team played once again against a good ranking regional team and we held our own up until the end when Wexford finally went ahead from our 2-2 tie and they finally won with a score of 4-2. Our second league game was against Whitby. Whitby won 4-2. Our third and fourth game finally got the kids what they were used to last season: Wins. First we played Etobicoke and came away with a 2-0 win. The next game was against Newmarket and we came away with a 5-0 win. On the weekend of June 12, the U- 12 boys entered the Ontario Cup. We played teams from Bolton, Brampton, Markham and Etobicoke. Unfortunately, we had heat and humidity humidity and disgraceful fields to contend with and did not do too well at this tournament. Fortunately for the boys they left the tournament on a high note by winning their last game there. On June 26-27 the boys will be hosting, along with other age groups, a tournament once again at Hydro Fields. Hopefully the boys will stay in the winning groove and come out winners. winners. Major Peewee Orioles Rebound Alter Losses After a rough start with two losses to Cobourg, the Claringlon Major Peewee Orioles rebounded with two straight wins. The Orioles first win came against rivals Whitby. Felice Cammisuli pitched a no-hitter with only one runner runner reaching base on a walk, with 15 strikeouts. The offence provided four runs for the victory. In the second win, the Orioles defeated Pickering 13-4. The game went back and forth for the first two innings with the score tied 2-2.
