Marriage Announcement Mr. and Mrs. Scott Sedgwick were united in marriage at Queen Street United Church, Lindsay, on Saturday, May 8, 1999. Tracey is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walt Vcrlcyscn of Fcnclon Falls and Scott is the son of Mrs. Ann Sedgwick of Lindsay and Mr. Ross Sedgwick of Minden. At Trent University's Convocation on June 4th, Jody graduated on the dean's list with her Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree. A Concurrent Education student joint majoring in French and Mathematics, she will be attending Queen's University in the fall for the Bachelor of Edueation Degree program. Jody is the daughter of Ron and Lois Richards and the Granddaughter of Marjorie Connell and Ace and Ada Richards. We are all very proud of you. The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanvillc, Wednesday, June 16, 1999 Section Two Page 9 Durham College Celebrates 31 st Convocation Speakers to Shore Wisdom, Experience with Class of '99 At Durham College's 31st convocation convocation ceremonies on Friday, June 18, three accomplished alumni will address graduating students and their guests. 1,350 Graduates About 1,350 students from the Arts and Administration, Business, Business and Skills, Health and Human Studies and Technology divisions divisions will he graduating this year. Convocation will be held at the Civic Auditorium in Oshawa and there will be a 10 a.m„ a 2 p.m. and a 6 p.m. cer emony. Vicki Stewart, a '77 Legal Administration grad, will address the morning ceremony. Ms. Stewart, a full-time professor at Durham College, has many accomplishments to her credit. She launched her own real estate conveyancing business, served on a college advisory committee and Durham's board of governors, and obtained hcr FRIE (Fellow Real Estate Institute Executive) designation from the Real Estate Institute of Canada. Paul Vessey, a '75 Business •Administration - Marketing grad, will speak at the afternoon ceremony. As executive vice-president, personal and commercial banker at CIBC, Mr. Vessey is charged with developing and managing the bank's consumer credit products and services. In his other role as executive vice-president, personal lending, he has senior responsibilities including CIBC Mortgages Inc. and CIBC Finance Inc. As well, Mr. Vessey serves on the board of directors of Visa International, Women's College Hospital, the Toronto Film Festival and other groups. ' irraine Sunstrum-Mann, an '88 Nursing grad, will address the evening ceremony. Ms. S'unstrum-Mann has progressed through a number of positions positions and responsibilities at Lakeridge Health Corporation and she is currently currently program leader for general medicine and family medicine. She received her BA from York University in 1998 and is now working on an MBA and a Masters of Health Science in Nursing. As well, Ms. Sunstrum-Mann is president president elect of the Durham Northumberland chapter of the Registered Nurses Association pf Ontario. • In the 1999 Budget, the Government of Canada demonstrated its commitment to improve the health of pregnant women and their babies, • The Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program already funds 280 community-based projects across Canada and in 400 First Nations and Inuit communities.
