The "CDSTECH 200" will be a two day event (July 10/11) and the first entry into title sponsorship of an auto race for CDS Technologies, a Durham Region based company company (CDS currently sponsor four drivers at Mosport and arc a track sponsor). Darlington Sees Double Figures In Soccer Action Against Ajax Gaels End Perfect Season The Huntsville goal was a busy place on Tuesday night as the Clarington Green Gaels scored 20 times cn route to their final victory of the regular season. Mark Stata led the team offensively with 2 RBI's; single RBI's coming from Grant Fulford and Justin Ruf. Pete Downs pitched a strong 4 innings for the Orioles, leaving the game with a 3-2 lead. Downs gave up 2 runs on 3 hits, recorded 4 strikeouts strikeouts and allowing no walks. In Sunday's doublehcadcr in Port Hope, the Oriole bats were as hot as the temperature temperature as they banged out a total of 33 hits in routing routing the opposition by scores of 19-7 and 19-4. Holding the hot bats for the Orioles were Grant Fulford with a total of 7 RBI's, Wade Pickcll with 6, Tyler Young with 5, and Mark Stata and Justin Ruf with 4 each. Also contributing offensively were Justin Clarke with 5 hits, Trevor Clarke and Mike Lusty with 3 each and Andy Hamilton with a a pair. Mark Stata picked up the win in the first game giving up only 1 run on 1 hit and striking out 2 in his 4 inning stint. Pete Downs was the winning pitcher in game 2 allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and striking out 4. The Orioles face another busy week taking on Ajax and- Cobourg and finishing finishing up with a doublehcadcr on Sunday in Kingston. Derek Gillespie, of Osnawa and Gord Chilton of Markham overcame all the elements to gain a share of the lead after the first round of the 1999 Clarica Ontario Amateur Golf Championship at the St. Catharines . Playing against West Rouge, the Power Girls lost 1-0 in the opener but rebounded later in the day with a 0-0 lie. In two games against Scarborough, it was a case of flying feet as Team Sold by Lorn won 6-0 and 4-0. Goal scorers were Taryn Nicholson (4), Brianna Heard (2), Rachel O'Connor (2), Julia Cicciarella (1) and Miranda Reilano (1).
