The bakery is just one of the businesses involved in the Art in Stores program at the Visual Arts Centre. Students to Create "Storefront Art" The Visual Arts Centre's pARTner's program, program, and The Firehouse Youth Centre are working working together to bring colourful imaginative artwork artwork to the storefronts storefronts of Downtown Bowmanvillc. A one-week "Storefront Art Camp" will take place August 9- 13, under the supervision of artist Paul Livingston. Students will create create colourful pan- -els relating to specific businesses, businesses, the final results to be displayed displayed at Midnight Madness Celebrations on August 13. Camp participants participants will be linked with businesses businesses to develop site-specific artistic artistic • panels. Businesses that sponsor students will have their names included on the panels and retain ownership of them at the end of the project. A fine artist in his own right, Livingston also has a background as art director for various advertising advertising agencies, and extensive teaching teaching experience. He has painted several murals in the region and worked with students students to produce pieces for the new arena. The Visual Arts Centre is located at 143 Simpson Avenue, Bowmanvillc. Directions: Hwy. 401 to Liberty Street in Bowmanvillc, Liberty to Baseline, cast on Baseline to Simpson, north on Simpson to Soper Creek Park. Camps arc $100 or $110 for non members, unless sponsorships sponsorships arc found.
