Silver Set Enjoys Bus Trip to Thousand Islands by Harvey Yellowlees "Parents who are afraid to put their foot down have children who step on their toes." Thanks for the beautiful rain on Saturday. It was what the lawns and crops needed. Another new house is being framed in the Westlake subdivision. On Wednesday morning bright and early 48 members and friend of the Solina Silver Set boarded a Kerr bus with Glenn Smith as driver and his wife Mary June the tour guide. The first stop was at the Big Apple near Colborne for a drink and a snack. Once again on the bus we headed for Gananoque, stopping for a buffet dinner dinner at the Squire restaurant. From here it was only a short distance to the boat docks. We left for a three hour cmise of the waters around the Thousand Islands, pausing at Boldt castle to pick up passengers. Then we circled back to the dock again. On the way home we watched a video of the castle. The ride on the water was very calm and relaxing. Lunch on the return trip was near Kingston at Swiss Chalet. My thanks to our bus driver and guide. Also my wife and the others who looked after my transportation. While we were away the parking lot at the hall was being resurfaced.
