That work was honoured recently when Sarah was chosen as one of only 80 participants from across Canada to take part in the Millennium Dreamers program at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The summit was sponsored by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), Walt Disney Co. and McDonalds. Sarah, and the other Canadian Canadian participants, joined 2,000 youths from 90 countries countries for the opportunity to share their stories and receive recognition for their achieve ments. Over the years Sarah has taken part in many public speaking engagements and fund-raising events which have helped create awareness and raise thousands of dollars toward a cure for the life- threatening disease, says the foundation's publicity manager, manager, Jo-Ann Thow.
