Church offers holiday events Tyrone United Churcli is offering a number of events to help people celebrate celebrate the Christmas season. On Sunday, Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m., the church is hosting a community pot luck at die church, followed by a hayride and caroling through Tyrone. On Dec. 6, the Farmers' Parade of Lights will make its way from Enniskillen Enniskillen at 6:30 p.m., arriving in Tyrone at about 7:30 p.m. The Christmas Pageant, entitled 'A Very Special Christmas Special,' will feature a news report from tire time of Jesus's birth, along with familiar tunes as the children of the Sunday School share the Christmas story. The event is set for Sunday, Dec. 17 at the regular 10:45 a.m. church service. The Tyrone Christmas Pageant will be combined with the Enniskillen United United Church Pageant at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at Tyrone Community Centre. On Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 6:30 p.m., the Tyrone UCW is hosting an open house. Tire event will include carol singing and refreshment. Tim South- well will be die guest pianist. BY JESSICA CRESANTO Special to the Statesman BOWMANVILLE - The OAC drama class at St. Stephen's Secondary Secondary School will be presenting their own version of the traditional classic, The Christmas Story. The class of 11 students came up with original ideas to add to the traditional traditional story of Christ's birth, making making it a modern-day story, which includes includes updated characters. The production production is entitled A Not So Silent Night. The class explains that they want the audience to come away with a deeper appreciation for the various characters and their emotions. Stephanie Jeronimo, director of the play, says that it is turning out better then she had expected. "The cast and choir are extremely talented. talented. Everyone is working really hard to make this show a success. I know this show will be very memorable and a great experience for everyone," she says. Andrea Cresanto, who has the role of Mary adds, "It's coming along really well, I'm really excited." excited." The class has been working on the production since the first day of school. Auditions were held the second second week of October and open to the entire school.
