Jeff Birch, 12, of Courtice and Joshua Franssen, 8, of Newcastle represented represented the Durham Whiz Kids Gymnastics Gymnastics Academy in the second provincial provincial super qualifier held in Kitchener. Birch, competing in the Argo B category in Metro East, received a gold medal in high bar, a silver on vault, a bronze on rings, fourth place on floor and parallel bars. He received a bronze medal in the overall category. Franssen, competing in the Sparx B category, took home a silver medal for his floor routine and a sixth place finish finish on the vault. He is ranked fifth overall in Metro East. Both will be competing in the third provincial qualifier in Woodstock on March 24-25.
