Mayor Mutton says he is concerned about the roads projects, projects, especially work on Taunton Road which is needed to help accommodate increased traffic due to residential and commercial growth that has sprung up along the road. "We found there is a real need to increase the development development charges for roads related projects," says the mayor, one of those concerned about a delay. "We found there is very little DC money left for roads. It's time to look at DCs for roads." The collection of Development Development Charges for hospital projects projects was also discussed with Durham MPP John O'Toole, who is reported to have informed informed councillors the Province isn't planning to amend the DC Act. But, Mr. Anderson says with last week's cabinet shuffle, he's hopeful there will be room for more discussion on the issue with the new minister of municipal municipal affairs and housing, MPP Chris Hodgson.
