The day begins at 10:30 a.m. with a parade all are invited to join. It starts at the Clarke Branch of the Clarington Public Library at Church and Centre streets and leads to Orono Park, off Station Street, where the day's festivities continue. Judging of parade costume will be held at the park with prizes for the funkiest outfits. At 11:45 a.m., official ceremonies will be held followed by the singing of O Canada and a concert concert by the Clarington Concert Band. Other activities include fun for the kids, free swimming and the traditional traditional ball games between Newcastle Newcastle and Orono as well as one between between the Athletics and the Clarington Clarington firefighters, with a play-off between between the winners of each to follow. Fifty-cent hot dogs will be sold and free birthday cake will be served. Parking is free. Museum Canada Day celebration fun for all BOWMANVILLE - The Bow- manville Museum will be holding its annual Canada Day celebrations Sunday, July 1. The fun begins at 11 a.m. with sack and running races. At noon, there will be speeches, a flag raising and the singing of '0 Canada'. The Mountaineers will provide music and Earl Brown will perform mystifying feats of magic. Sparky the Fire Safety Safety Dog and the Shriner clowns will pop by for a visit. Hot dogs, hamburgers, sno cones, cotton candy and other treats will be sold. Other activities include stories under the reading tent, face painting, apple bobbing, guessing games and a loonie raffle. Old wells needed for groundwater testing Conservation authority study needs 400 wells CLARINGTON V Clarington Clarington property owners with unused water wells artit being 1 asked to take part in a groundwater study being conducted by the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority. The authority is looking for private wells to be used as sample points for the Provincial Groundwater Monitoring Network, a longterm longterm partnership between Ontario conservation authorities authorities and the Ministry of the Environment.
