Complex. Registrations topped the 200 mark as 204 young athletes between the ages of 7 and 18 negotiated their way through the multi-sport event. Clarington athletes did exceptionally exceptionally well in the triathlon, which included entrants from throughout Ontario. The Wallaceburg Red Devils captured captured the top prize in Jr. B lacrosse, defeating defeating the host, team from Edmonton 10-8 in Sunday afternoon's Founder's Cup championship game held in Edmonton, Edmonton, Alta. The victory capped off an undefeated undefeated tournament for Wallaceburg, which finished with an unblemished record of 6-0 in the tournament that included nine ' teams from across Canada. . Wallaceburg swept through its round robin games, finishing in first place in the Blue Division with a 4-0 mark, collecting collecting wins over Poco, B.C. 17-6, Calgary Calgary Bandits 15-4, Manitoba 19-10 and Edmonton 10-8. In the semifinals, Wallaceburg ad vanced to the championship game with an 11-5 win over Delta, B.C. Ontario's other entry in the Aug. 15- 19 tournament, the Scarborough Saints, won the bronze medal with a narrow 11-10 win over Delta, B.C. Scarborough Scarborough was relegated to the bronze medal game after dropping an 8-7 decision to Edmonton in the semi-finals. In round-Tobin play, Scarborough finished first jn the Red Division with three straight victories over the Calgary Mountaineers 11-8, Delta, B.C. 9-6 and the Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council Council 12-7. ' The Green Gaels won the Founder's Cup two of the past three years, claiming claiming the top prize in 1998 and last season on its home floor as hosts of the national national championship tournament.
