Despite an undisciplined effort that saw them shorthanded nine times, the Generals managed a 6-4 win, snapping a four-game winless skid and restoring the team's points percentage above .500 to 11-10-1-2. "I think we can learn some lessons discipline-wise," said Oshawa coach and general manager George Burnett following Sunday's win. Oshawa managed the victory despite despite a constant parade to the penalty box, several of the infractions coming inexplicably in the Belleville zone and Burnett himself getting fingered for a bench minor which gave the Bulls a 5-on-3 advantage with the Generals holding onto a slim 4-3 lead midway through the third period. The Generals surrendered two power-play goals, as the Bulls tried to rally from a 4-1 deficit. "I probably should have sat (benched himself) for my lack of discipline," discipline," said Burnett candidly. Still, Burnett was pleased to see his team finally win after lacklustre losing efforts against Mississauga, Peterborough, Ottawa and Barrie - three of those setbacks on home ice. "Every win is really important, but when you get a chance to beat the first-place team and you do it with lots of different things happening in the game...it's a big win to finish the weekend off after struggling for a couple, that's for sure," said Burnett. Newcomer Brian McGrattan scored twice, giving him six on the season and four in nine games with the Generals. Jamie Johnson added a goal and three assists to move into seventh place in the OHL scoring race with 7-29-36 numbers in 24 games. Pat Montgomery (3rd), Brandon Brandon Nolan (14th) and Chris Minard (14th) rounded out the scoring. GENERALLY SPEAKING: Mike Renzi scored a pair for the Bulls, with Oliver Maron and Adam Paiement adding singles.. .After Friday's Friday's game in Kingston, the Generals Clarington swimmers do well at first meet TORONTO - Members of the Clarington Clarington swim club enjoyed outstanding results at the University of Toronto meet.
