Commenting on the situation in Oshawa, where he starred for the Generals when the Civic Auditorium Auditorium opened 37 years ago, Orr says "I love the old arena" that he still periodically visits, but agrees today's Ontario Hockey League calls for a more modern facility. We've got to continue to work and encourage kids to play and have fun at the minor, level." - • On the new fast face- off rule in junior hockey: "The games are going much quicker and I think it makes for a better game." • On European content in Canadian junior hockey: "If any player can make us a better league, then I say 'welcome'... We've got to look at it as a worldwide sport." Orr also announced he would not be coaching against Don Cherry at the upcoming CHL Top Prospects game as he has done since its inception six years ago.
