When he began there, the national station was just an up-and-coming competitor to the CBC. i Television was a good fit for Mr. Kirck's gruff delivery and calm , manner and he took to it quickly. i After working in radio in Sault Ste. , Marie, Barrie, Calgary and Toron- , to, he got his first stint on television television in 1960 at Hamilton's CHCH. The Durham Folklore Society will provide all schools in the region region and any other interested organizations organizations with its 2002 Directory of Storytellers. The booklet will introduce DFS Storytellers by giving a brief biography biography of members who are accepting accepting bookings, their address and phone number to contact them for . class or group functions. DFS is an umbrella forum for storytellers and those interested in learning about it. Members meet the fourth Thursday of each month at the Lovin' Oven, 65 King St. W. in Oshavva. They share stories and practice telling tales of culture, legends, legends, family and more for people of all ages and walks of life. New members arc always welcome. The group's motto is 'Come listen, listen, come tell.'
