On Sept. 1, Dr. Donald Atkinson, currently of Moncton, N.B., will take over the top medical staff post at Lakeridge, Lakeridge, which runs hospitals in Oshawa, Whitby, Bowmanville, Port Perry and Uxbridge. He'll take over from Dr. Robin Davies, who announced his resignation from the position several months ago. Judy Spring, chairman of Lak- cridge's board of trustees, thanked Dr. , Davies for his years of dedication and his patience as a new chief of staff was found. "His shoes were hard to fill," she said. "We owe him a great deal of gratitude gratitude for his service and dedication." Dr. Atkinson is currently responsible for two community health centres and patient services at two hospitals. He has practised medicine in Fort Frances, Ont., and Orangeville and was involved in the University of Toronto's rural family medicine training program. Museum springs into action BOWMANVILLE - The Bowmanville Bowmanville museum celebrates the end of spring with book and craft sales and a horticulture show. The museum, at 37 Silver St., hosts its annual book sale Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All kinds of books will be available, and will be p sold at very low prices.
