The series comeback guarantees the Green Gaels a spot in the Founder's Cup Canadian Championships in Ballon Hills Aug. 21-25. But before that takes place, the Green Gaels will meet St. Catharines Spartan in a best-of-five series for the league championship, championship, beginning Thursday in St. Catharines. Game 2 will be in Bow- manville Friday night at 8:30 p.m., with Game 3 back in St. Catharines Sunday. If needed, the final two games of the series series will be played in Bowmanville Monday Monday at 8:30 p.m., with Game 5 in St. Catharines Thursday, Aug. 15. In an anti-climatic twist to the series, by reaching the league finals, both teams have qualified for the Founder's Cup. The series win over Onondaga marked the third time during this incredible incredible playoff run that the Green Gaels have won the fifth and deciding game on their home floor, victimizing the Mimico Mountaineers and Barrie Tornado in the first two rounds. "We've been fighting for respect all year," said Brad MacArthur of his team's inspired play. "Getting swept in three games is not the way to get respect from the community community or lacrosse people." The Green Gaels won Game 3 Friday night 11-7, and followed with an 8-6 decision decision Saturday night. Sunday's matinee game wasn't decided until less than 20 seconds remained on the clock when James Hinkson scored to give the Green Gaels a 7-6 win.
