She has an extremely soft coat, and is very affectionate. Cats and dogs are required to be licensed annually and kept on their owner's property. The shelter regularly sends 60 % of dogs back to their homes from the shelter. So far this year 129 of the 212 dogs that came in to the shelter have gone back home. Many are also sent home over the phone with the help of their current municipal license tag (saving the impound fine). Sadly however, cats are rarely returned to their owners. So far this year of the 268 cats that have come into our shelter only 8 have been claimed by their owners. We really need to improve these numbers. Make sure your kitten becomes used to wearing collar. Keep a current municipal tag affixed to the collar. Keep your cat safely indoors or use a leash and harness or a pen to keep your cat'safely at home. Please contact the shelter right away If your cat or dog goes missing. For Information on this and other animals please call 905-623-7651 or visit us at 33 Lake Rd., Bowmanville. Check out www.petflnder.org for other animals available at the Clarington Animal Shelter. 5 létal I W, mêmm HH www.municipality.clarington.on.ca
