Travelling to Hamilton to compete in the Chedoke Classic. Clarington outscored the opposition 37-2 in five games. In the first game against Woodstock, Grant Graham was selected MVP in a 7- 0 win. Daniel Murphy won the honours in a 14-0 win over Cambridge, while goaltender Matthew McAlister was MVP in an 8-l victory over Brantford. In the semifinals, Brendan Lindbcrg's MVP performance led Clarington to a 5- 0 victory over Roscdale. Against Oakville in the championship championship game, Clarington faced a tough test, battling for a 3-l win. Mathew Johns scored twice and was game MVP. Shawn Edgell scored the third goal while Shawn Taylor and Jordon Dickson had two assists each. Goals and assists in the tournament were collected by Ryan Sullivan (3-6), M. Major atom Toros reach finals before bowing out to London CLARINGTON - The Clarington Arts & Technique Hairstyling School Toros made the most of their strong play at the Hamilton Bulldogs International Tournament, advancing all the way to the major atom finals. The Toros split the opening two games, beating the Buffalo Régals 4-1, but couldn't hold a third period lead in a 3- 2 loss to Oakville. Needing a win in the third game to advance, the Toros prevailed prevailed 7-3 over the Hamilton Reps. In a rematch with Oakville in the semis, the Toros gained some revenge with a 4-1 decision as goaltender Kirk Campbell was awarded the MVR The victory set up a final against the London Jr. Knights where the Toros were edged 4- 3. Collecting goals and assists in the tournament were Mitchell Heard (4-4), Daniel Lintner (6-2), Jordan Bailey (4- 2), Chad Tutlon (2-3), Nick Weiss (2-2), Taylor Roden (two goals), Zack Glaspell (two assists), Mitchell Davis.(two as sists), Justin Dymond (two assists), Chris Moore (two assists), Cameron Hoy (two assists) and Conner Sargcant (one assist). In league play, the Toros turned in a strong month. The Toros beat Oshawa 6- 2, Richmond Hill 3-1 and Markham 6-4, while settling for a 7-7 draw against York-Simcoc. The only setback was a 4- 1 decision to Barrie.
