As part of the increase in capacity, the force main conveying sewage from the Pumping Station to the gravity sewer system on Church Street needs to be replaced. Various alignments for a new force main are being considered. ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION: ! ..■■■■ ■ 1 ...... T ■ . . The planning of this project Is proceeding as a Schedule B undertaking in accordance, vyith th.e ;1 . requirements of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, June 2000, as prepare^ by the Municipal Engineers Association. Several alternative approaches for providing increased pumping capacity are under consideration. The pumping station alternatives include: Do Nothing, Limit Growth, New Pumping Station at different location and New Pumping Station at the .same location. There are four force main route alternatives (assuming that the pumping station location remains) as shown on the map below. A preliminary evaluation of these alternatives has been completed and will be presented at the upcoming Public Information Centre. After obtaining public and agency input on this preliminary evaluation, a preferred approach will be selected and we will publicize our final selection. Based on our preliminary evaluation, construction of a new pumping station, located at the existing pumping station site, with a new force main on (Route 3) North Street, Baldwin Street and Emily Street, is the technically preferred method of increasing system capacity.
