Last chance to register for summer roller hockey league CLARINGTON - Final registration for the Clarington Roller Hockey League's second season for kids and adults will be held Saturday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex. The cost is $ 180 + GST for players, but if you are a goalie with your own equipment, the price is $50. The league plays Tuesday nights at Darlington Arena starting April 22 and operates until June 24. The adult league will be split into two divisions, with players aged 17-25 in one, and anyone 26 and older in another. There are also plans for a high school roller hockey tournament in May open to all players enrolled in high school regardless of ice hockey skill. McDonald's started the day with Kurt Sloos picking up his first shutout of the year in a 2-0 win over Rice Lake. Matt Smith and Clayton McDonald McDonald had a goal and assist each, with two assists to Matt Johnson. The winning ways continued with a 2-1 overtime win against Flomation Engineering of Clarington to advance to the finals. In the championship game, McDonald's McDonald's came up short in a 4-1 loss against Canadian Tire of Clarington. Brandon Denney had the lone goal with assists to Martin Schmahl and Paul Burnett. Sloos had a strong game in a 4-1 win over Newcastle #1 in Clarington Recreation Hockey League action. Denney scored twice with singles to Smith and Connor Douglas. Connor Rochon, Alex Mountenay, Tyler Leach, Talon Johnstone, Michael Brand and Tyler Martin played strong defensively.
