August 16 at the York Equestrian Centre near Newmarket. Ontario. This show featured competitors from the Central Ontario. Western Ontario and Saint Lawrence-Ottawa Valley Regions of Pony Club. Unfortunately, the uncertainty of gasoline supplies cut down on representation representation from the Saint l.awreiiee-Ottaxva Valley Region (which includes all of Quebec) and from the more distant areas of Western Ontario. SHOW JUMPING . Each division included three classes A a single round with jump-off, a speed class, and another single round with jump-off. Entry Division In Class I. the winner was Katclyn Powell of the Durham Pony Club on Sundance. Kayla Neil, another Durham rider, was second on Pal-Of-Mine, with third place going to Lauren Cappcllctti of the Ajax Pony Club on Trigger Appy. All of these Competitors represented Central Ontario. Central Ontario Region riders also swept the first three places in the speed class, with Johanna Me Keen of the Oshawa Pony Club taking top honours on My a. Katlyn Powell and Sundance finished second, and Kalee Dc France of the Brooklin Pony Club was third aboard Apollo. Johanna Me Keen and Mya also won Class 3. with James Mill of the Blue- water Pony Club in the Western Ontario Region second on Lady Adcanus, and Lauren Cappcllctti third on Trigger Appy. Madison Reeves of the Uxbridgc-Scugog Pony Club (Central Ontario) was first on Pandora, with Maddie Baker of the Toronto & North York Pony Club (also Central Ontario) second aboard Skecter. Third place went to Alexis Ramage of the Esqucsing Pony Club (Western Ontario) riding All My Joy. In the speed class, the winner was Jessica MeVittic of the Temiskaming Pony Club on Merry legs. Second place went to Mallory Jones of the Ajax Pony Club on Natasha, with Mori Cruikshanks of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club third on Aragorn. All of these competitors represented Central Ontario. Central Ontario riders also swept the top three spots in Class 3 in this Division, Division, with Jessica MeVillie again taking the honours, Madison Reeves second second and Mori Cruikshanks third. , Jessica MeVittie was Starter Division Champion with Madison Reeves the Reserve. Beginner Division Erin Blakeley and Thunder Wings of the Kawartha Pony Club finished first in Class I, with Megan Chalmers of the Brooklin Pony Club in second place on Skip the Command and Megan Mattos of the Waussnodac Pony Club taking taking third spot riding P.I Sparkles. All of these entries were from the Central Ontario Region. In Class 2, Megan Chalmers was the winner, with second place going to Sean Mitchell of the Caledon Pony Club in the Western Ontario Region, riding Cocoa. Megan Mattos and PJ Sparkles again finished third. Class 3 results were exactly the same as those for Class I. Megan Chalmers was Beginner Champion, with Erin Blakeley the Reserve. Novice Division In Class 1. Amelia Jones of the Victoria Pony Club was the winner riding Brcezin,. Second place went to Katie Murray of the Durham Pony Club riding riding Jamane, and Jade Stalk of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club was third on Simple Citation. All of these entries were from the Central Ontario Region. 1 Victoria Pony Club entries finished 1-2 in the speed class. Jessie Barrieau and Keep on Dreamin, were the fastest, with Katlyn Hewsoti second on Northern Northern Escapade. Katie Murray of Durham was third. Western Ontario Region riders look two of the top three spots in Class 3. Kendra Taylor and Beauregard of the Mill Ridge Pony Club finished first. Kitty Baker of the Toronto & North York Pony Club in Central Ontario Region was in second place on Irish Willie. Shannon Townsend of the Grand River Pony Club in Western Ontario Region was third riding Sunshine. Kendra Taylor was Novice Champion, with Amelia Jones the Reserve. Intermediate Division Only one Intermediate rider made it to the show, and naturally took the top spot in all three classes and the Championship. The winner was Corrin Harris of the Niagara Pony Club in the Western Ontario Region, riding Heza Hawk. DRESSAGE Each rider performed two tests, with different judges. Champion and Reserve Reserve for each division were based on average scores from the two tests. Starter Level In Test I, the winner was Andrea McGill of the Durham Pony Club riding Phoenix Rising. Second place went to Courtney O, Brien of the Brooklin Pony Club on Mandarin. These two riders were from Central Ontario. In third place was Caillyn Pari si of the Niagara Pony Club in Western Ontario Region, riding Always A Ruler. Ms Parisi look top spot in Test 2. with second place going to Elizabeth Haines of the High County Pony Club on Oliver & Company and with Jessica Hespeler of the Mount Nemo Pony Club placing third. In Test 4, Kaley Fountain took the honours, with Johanna Me Keen of the Oshawa Pony Club (Central Ontario) second on Mi ligate Bravchcart and Laura Parliament third. Laura Parliament was Training Champion and Kaley Fountain was the Reserve. Reserve. First Level Section A Tests Only two First Level A Test competitors managed to get to the show, both from the Central Ontario Region. Kylie Pinder of the Victoria Pony Club won both the AI and A2 tests on Let.s Rhumba, with Kendal Lehari of the Toronto & North York Pony Club second on She,s All That. Kylie Pinder was First Level Champion with Kendal Lehari the Reserve. First Level Section B Tests FIREPLACE PLUS 900 HOPKINS ST, WHITBY (Behind the restaurant) 905-668-3192 Katie Murray of the Duiham Pony Club in Central Ontario was the only competitor at this level. She and her mount. Jamane. were placed first in both the B3 and B4 tests, and were named Champion. Second Level Section A Tests This was another Division with only one competitor. Daina Brown of the Kawartha Pony Club (Central Ontario) riding Moon Walker. She was placed first in both the Al and A2 tests, and declared Champion. Next, the results for the Freestyle competitions. Freestyle classes, formally formally known as kurs, are dressage performed to music. There are still required movements, but they may be performed in any order. Starter Level Freestyle Caillyn Parisi of the Niagara Pony Club in the Western Ontario Region was the winner on Always A Ruler, with second going to Andrea McGill of the Durham Pony Club in the Central Ontario Region, riding Phoenix Rising. Training Level Freestyle First place went to Johanna Me Keen of the Oshawa Pony Club on Millgalc Bravchcart. Jessie Ball of the Victoria Pony Club finished second riding Corona, Corona, s Kiowa, and third place went to Whitney Brennan of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club aboard Silver King Oliver. All these riders represented the Central Ontario Region. Taking both kur and technical marks into account, Johanna Me Keen was Champion and Jessie Ball was Reserve. ONTARIO PONY CLUB TOURNAMENT OE CHAMPIONS RISING STAR SHOW JUMPING CHALLENGE Here are the results from the Ontario.s Pony Club Tournament of Champions Champions (QPTOC) Rising Star Show Jumping Challenge, held August 17th at the York Equestrian Centre near Newmarket. This competition was the only one of the morning, taking place during the pony try- outs for the International Mounted Games Exchange competition. The Rising Star division is for less experienced riders, those not qualified for the Zone Championships. Pre-Entry A l is for D level riders, l() years of age or younger. Pre-Entry A2 is for D level riders 11 years of age or older. Fences for both divisions are l ,9/rr to 2 r /rt. Pre- Entry B is for D or Dl level riders A no age qualifications, but fences are higher al 2, to 2,3/W. In Pre-Entry AI class I. Emilie Fox of the Kawartha Branch took first place riding Frosted Flakes, followed by Jane Stephenson of Uxbridge-Scugog on Missy. Alexandra Reynolds of Kawartha took third on Willow. In Pre-Entry A2 class l, Lindsay Devoe of Ajax took first place riding Van Gogh.
