I have lived in Bowmanville for more than 20 years. Growing up here I have attended Waverley Public School, Vincent Massey Public School, Bowmanville Senior Public School and finally Bowmanville High School. The future of this municipality starts with our children. I want a school board that provides Clarington with the best education possible for our children giving them the opportunity to go out into the world and become a doctor, a lawyer, an electrician, a business owner, or whatever they desire. I want to build a strong foundation for our children so that the next generation will have the same great opportunities. I am not going to pretend that I know how to teach. That role is for the teachers. My job and commitment to you as your trustee is to provide the tools necessary to teach our young bright minds. This means that we will have to spend more money inside the classrooms on our students, instead of wasting it on bureaucracy. We need to lower classroom sizes and ensure that the teachers and students have the textbooks and materials that they need. In order to achieve these goals, we need the leadership of someone who has experience inside the government and in the private sector. I have both. Being a proud part owner of my family business, Forsey Signs & Designs, has given me the understanding of how valuable every dollar is and how important it is to keep a tight budget. 1 have also had the opportunity to work for many different Ontario cabinet ministers including the Ministers of Finance, Enterprise, Consumer Commercial Relations, Energy, and Labour, giving me an in-depth look at how government works. I am running for Public School Board Trustee, not because it is a stepping stone, or because I am looking out for the special interest of one individual school. I am running because the future of our children is at stake, and I want to ensure that every student has equal opportunities regardless of what school they attend. We need a trustee to represent them efficiently and, I am that person. . When you receive your ballot remember to vote "C" for our children, "C" for Clarington, and vote "C" for Cooke. Yours truly, Steven Cooke On November 10, Elect Steven COOKE Public School Board Trustee Lifetime Roofing ! www .
