Yard Waste - Public Notice R esidents are reminded that the raking, blowing or dumping of leaves or other yard waste onto the municipal roads and streets is not only dangerous, it is illegal. The Municipality of Clarington By-law 83-57 (as amended) states that no person shall, "obstruct, encumber, injure or foul any highway, highway, bridge, road allowance, street...". The maximum penalty for ■ this offence is $5000. Yard waste can be disposed of through your regular collection dates in the months of October and November. The study is expected to conclude Summer 2004. This Study will establish the framework for stormwater management, management, identify potential impacts to natural features and suggest mitigative measures where impacts are predicted. Areas requiring further study for future development will also be identified. The consultant will be presenting the Phase 1 Existing Conditions Report at this Public Information Centre. A brief question and answer period will follow the presentation. The presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. A Steering Committee to guide the work of the consultant has Brookhill Subwatershed Study Area been established. In addition to two area residents, the Steering Committee consists of representatives from the Municipality of Clarington, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Region of Durham, and the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority. Section 170(15) provides the authority for the removal of any vehicles, at the owner's expense, found to be causing an obstruction on a highway. Section 181 prohibits the depositing of snow or ice on a public roadway. Municipality of Clarington By-law 91-58: Section 4-6 (i) prohibits the parking of vehicles on any roadway roadway for a period longer than three (3) hours, and is also applicable applicable to overnight parking on any road under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Clarington.
