The Hamilton Indoor Games have been held for the last 9lj years. The games involve (jrade 6 to 8 athletes on one day and high school runners ajd jumpers the other. The ( 'lines attract teams from all over south central Ontario ajid this year involved over 3Ô schools in the elementary section and a record number of participants in the high school Action. On the opening day, athletes om Dr. Emily Stowe P.S. i i Courtice attended the meet i ad came home with nine i îedals. Multiple medal per- irmances were turned in by . ijvan Esselink who. won three medals including a gold in the {Senior 600m, BJ Cunliffe who collected two medals including including a gold in the Senior 300m Aid Emma Gray also earned tlvo medals including a gold in t îe Bantam triple jump. Other i ledallists from Dr. Emily fjtowe were Shelby Cunliffe \jlio was first in the Bantam . 300m, Krista Harris with a silver in the Senior triple jump did Brooks Reeve and Nathan ^avitz who were part of the tjronze medal winning medley relay team. The next day, athletes from Courtice Secondary School traveled to Hamilton and experienced similar success. Courtice athletes came home with a total of six medals: Individual medals were won by Kyle Marry in the Grade 9 boys' 300m and Allysha Chapman in the Senior girls' long jump. Two Courtice relay tarns qualified for the finals with the Junior girls' 4 x 1 lap relay team coming home with a bronze medal after strong runs from Sarah Healy, Jessica Jessica Gray, Ashley Little, and Leanne Fomenko. The Open girls 4 x 400 team of Healy, Gray, Shannon McMinn, and Allysha Chapman ran well in the final but failed to win a medal as they finished fourth. In Game 1, Luke Burghardt and Jayson Wilbur had two goals.and one assist each with Luke Keenan pick ing up the other goal. Assists went to Chase St-Aubin, ■Tyler Farquharson and Nick Moreau.
