The team competed in tournaments in Peterborough, Clarington, Hamilton and Preston, and finished the regular season with a mark of 6-18-6. In ETA consolation playoff action, the Toros eliminated Ajax/Pickering 7- 3 in points, but were eliminated in the next round by the eventual league champions from Central Ontario. The second game went to overtime before the Toros bowed out. Sports Hall of Fame seeks nominations Deadline closes on May 1 : CLARINGTON - The Clarington Sports.Hall of Fame is seeking new members members to be enshrined. Is there an athlete out there who deserves special recognition? Or a team or someone who has made a significant contribution to the sporting community in Clarington? .Those are the kind of people the committee committee is seeking as it prepares for the 4th annual induction ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 21. Intermediate A girls hockey has a home in Clarington CLARINGTON -- As the Clarington Flames Girls Hockey organization continues continues to grow in stature and championships, championships, they are now happy to be icing an Intermediate hockey club. In the past, area girls who had completed completed their Midget hockey and wanted to continue to play at the Rep level, had to look elsewhere to find a place to play. But now, Clarington will be home to a very competitive Intermediate team, that will play in the North Metro Girls Hockey League. Strong. Clarington products such as Erin Haass and Sarah Carter can now finish out their Intermediate career at home, instead of travelling to another centre. In its inaugural year, the team will be coached by Ralph Cryderman and he is expecting a strong and competitive tryout camp. Tryouts began on Tuesday, with subsequent subsequent sessions planned for Saturday, April 22, 6:30-8 p.m. and finally Saturday, Saturday, April 29, 7-8:30 p.m. All tryouts will be held at the South Courtice Arena. Priorities identified to date are "Seamless Care for Seniors" and "Mental Health and Addiction Services."
