Players heading back home to play CLARINGTON - Four Clarington based girls, two from Bowmanville and one each from Newcastle and Newton- ville, had a positive influence on the Whitby Wolves Intermediate AA girls hockey team this season.. Sarah Carter (captain), Laura Stacey Stacey (assistant captain) and Erin Haass (assistant captain) have been playing for Whitby for the last three years and were recently joined by Jana Cryderman this year. All four girls have played for the Clarington Flames for six years before leaving to play for Whitby because there n was no Intermediate level age group ,! at Clarington. Cryderman joined the ° ! Flames every other year due to age dif- v 'Terence This season the four girls proved their strength as hockey players coming out with the most points. Cryderman, Haass and Carter proved to be the strength of the team with Stacey back on defence setting up the line, helping the club finish with a medal in the North Metro finals. The Wolves had an excellent season with a few tournament wins and medal in the finals - not bad for a team who only had 10 players and two goalies (sometimes less due to injuries). Next season the four girls will return to the Clarington Flames, with a few players from the Wolves team following to make up an Intermediate team" for Clarington. With the amount of talent coming from the Wolves, the Flames will be burning up the ice.
