The Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts, will hold a two-hour practice, followed by an autograph session, this Sunday afternoon at Civic Fields. Organized through the Oshawa Hawk- eyes football club, the Argos will be on the main stadium field from 2 to 4 p.m., followed followed by a barbecue and other festivities on Field 2. • There is no admission charge, but those ' wishing to attend are asked to bring a non- perishable food item for the food bank. All proceeds from the event will go toward the Hawkeyes for ; the upcoming football season. The Argos have two Durham Region products on their roster, Oshawa receiver Andre Talbot and Uxbridge defensive tackle Jeff Keeping, although Keeping might miss the practice with a knee inju- ly. ' OSHAWA « They say two out of three ain't bad, but it certainly would be with respect to the Oshawa Generals and their new draft picks. Disastrous, even. General manager 'Brad Sel- wood has managed to sign second round pick Dean How- - ard and third rounder Anthony Peters, but negotiations with prized first-round defenceman -Michael Dei Zotto were going a little more slowly than anticipated anticipated early this week. Brad Selwood Selwood remains confident something can be worked out with Del Zotto, who had 30-90-120 numbers in 73 games with the Markham Waxers minor midget team this past season. Howard, who had indicated he might take the college route, came to terms Friday, much to the delight of Selwood. "He's a heck of a hockey player," Selwood Selwood says of the 5-foot-10 forward, who had 24-36-61 slats in 42 games with' the - Sault Ste. Marie North Stars. He's so reliable away from the puck and so good with it, obviously." 1 Peters, younger brother of Carolina Hurricanes' Hurricanes' second round pick Justin Peters, was the second goalie chosen in the OHL draft. He had a 1.43 GAA and 10 shutouts in 32 games with the Huron-Perlh Lakers. "We're convinced he's the most athletic athletic goalie out there and he plays the position as well as I've seen at that age," Selwood raves. "At the same point inhis career, lie's better than Justin was." i IN TODAY' THIS WM To have your flyers delivered by Durham's #1 Carrier Force!
