After moving their Intercounty Baseball Baseball League record to within a game of the .500 mark with a 7-2 win in Guelph Saturday, the Dodgers dropped the second second half of the doubleheader 8-0 to the Royals, then lost 5-4 to the Brantford Red Sox Sunday at Kinsmen Stadium." When the weekend was done, the Dodgers settled in at sixth place in the nine team league at 3-6, four games back of the first-place London Majors Brad McConnachie had a pair of hits and drove in two runs to help, the Dodgers to their lone weekend win. Brett Prosper also had two hits and Mick Kurhan doubled and drove in two runs. Adam Garner (1-1) went the distance for Oshawa, allowing two runs and 10 hits in seven innings. In the nightcap, Scan Reilly belled a pair of homers and drove in four runs, while Ryan Hart held Oshawa to three hits in five innings to lead Guelph to victory. Dodger Greg Byron (0-1) allowed four runs and seven hits in a four inning start. McConnachie, Kurhan and Ken Calway had Oshawa's only hits. In Sunday's narrow defeat, Dodgers starter Aaron Gordon went six strong innings, giving tip just two Brantford Brantford runs, but reliever Pal Smith (1-1) allowed three runs in just 2/3 of an inning to absorb the loss. Ryan Balan pitched two scoreless innings of relief and also had two hits in the game, including a double. McConnachie also legged out a double, double, while Calway and Tyler Curran had RBIs for the Dodgers. Trailing 5-4, Oshawa loaded the bases in the eighth inning, but couldn't come up with the big hit. The Dodgers have a busy week ahead, facing the Hamilton Thunder- birds (2-5) tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Kinsmen Stadium, then travelling to Barrie Thursday to play the Baycats (5-1). On the weekend, it's a 2 p.m. . home date Saturday with Kitchener (2- 7) and a game in Hamilton Sunday.
