Baseline and Holt now a four-way stop BY JENNIFER STONE Staff Writer BOWMANVILLE - Those who use the -busy intersection of Baseline and Holt roads will find that, as of the middle of this week, it has become a four-way stop. Installation of signs was scheduled for Wednesday, June 7, and according to a notice from the Municipality, the change could cause some problems. "Although advance 'stop ahead' signs, 'new' signs, 'slop'signs and 'all-way'lab signs will be posted on Baseline Road with painted stop bars, some motorists may not observe them, and could travel through the new stop signs at a high rate of speed," said the notice. A double set of advance warning signs are being installed, said Engineering Director Tony Cannclla. "The biggest concern is to ensure people driving through the intersection realize there's something new," he said. Holt Road already had a slop sign. The change is for motorists on Baseline Road, who previously would have had the right- of-way. There arc also plans to light the intersection. That should happen this fall, said Mr. Cannclla.
