Ontario Provincial Police announced Tuesday they'd made an arrest in the long-running investigation, investigation, launched last January when a rock tossed from an overpass smashed through the windshield of Nadia McLean's Volkswagen as it travelled along Hwy. 401. A bail hearing was to be held Tuesday for the youth, a 14-year-old Oshawa resident resident who can't be identified identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The boy has been charged with five counts of mischief mischief endangering human life and one count of aggravated assault. OPP detectives were assisted by Durham Regional Police during the investigation, investigation, launched after the Jan. 29 incident. Lead investigator, investigator, OPP Detective Constable Constable Cinto Roy, was not available for comment. Ms. McLean, a 28-year- old teacher at St. Charles Gamier School in Whitby, Whitby, was on her way home around 2 a.in. on a Sunday after picking up relatives and friends at an event in Toronto when the 1.1-kg rock was dropped from the Albert Street overpass onto her eastbound car. The jagged rock tore through the windshield and smashed into the woman's face, causing numerous fractures and damage to her mouth and teeth.
