What he saw was beyond his imagination. imagination. Collapsed among shards of glass from a shattered door a man lay dying, bleeding bleeding to death on a square of patio stones outside 454 Centre St.'S. Blood, Mr. Eddlcstone said, poured from a wound in the man's neck. "This guy's lying stretched out on his back and lie's got a big gash," "Mr. Eddlcstone; superintendent at the building for seven years, recalled of the scene outside his^apartment Sunday night. "His jugular was cut." Compounding the shock for Mr. Eddlcstone was the realization the dead man was Shon Hart, a man who'd occasionally performed odd jobs at the five-storey condominium building, and whose mother lives there. ' "It didn't look like Shon," Mr. Eddie- stone said, noting the 31-year-old man's' usual long hair and pony tail were gone ' and that he wore no shirt. Durham Regional Police say Mr. Hart was injured on a nearby cycling path that runs north along the Oshawa Creek from Mill Street. Although gravely injured he made his way a couple hundred metres from the scene of the assault To 454 Centre, where he collapsed collapsed after smashing out the patio door of the basement apartment Mr. Eddie- stone shares with his wife. Homicide detective J.J. Allan wouldn't confirm what caused Mr.'Hart's death , as he was still awaiting reports of a post mortem performed Tuesday in Toronto. Mr. Eddlcstone figures Mr. Hart made ' his way to the building to get help, choosing his apartment because it was . accessible. "He probably saw the light through the curtain," he said. "I don't know how he made it here."
