After losing their first game of the year on home floor just over a week ago, the Warriors rebounded with wins in Game 4 and 5 against the Ottawa Titans, capping capping off a scries win in five games. Thursday night, the Warriors went into Ottawa and returned home with a 13-7 win and followed that up one night later with a 10-3 ■ trouncing to wrap the series up at home. After having so j ust i n Fox many players in and out of the sick bay, Whitby coach Jeff McComb welcomed the time off after quickly dispatching of Ottawa. "With the way "we are banged up, having having what is likely to be a week off is huge this time of year," said McComb. "We won't play until most likely Friday, so the time off is nice." .' Although they are forced to prepare for the semifinal séries without a known opponent, McComb says plenty of positives positives can arise from that. "We'll have a good rest and a chance to focus on ourselves and not another team," he says. "We don't have to worry about anyone else for a couple of days and wc can focus on some of the problems problems we have in our game. Come game time, it's not going to matter who we play because I don't think it's a problem problem to get up and focused for a playoff game." Geographically, the Peterborough Lak ers, the fifth seed, would be the better better opponent, however, should the third seeded St. Catharines Athletics manage manage to win their series, it'll take seven games, thus making it very possible the Warriors will encounter a tired opponent when the second round begins. Oil;the injury front, the time off is good news for Zack Greer, who suffered a deep bone bruise to his shoulder in Game 3 of the Ottawa scries. "We'll find out a little more about him (this week)," says McComb of his star player who has missed several games due to injury this season. "If all goes well, hopefully he'll be back next round." In other Jr. A action, Six Nations moved on by ousting the Kitchencr- Watcrloo Braves in five games, while Peterborough disposed of Toronto, also in five games. NOTES: Rookie Justin Fox, who played for the Clarington Green Gaels previously, led the scoring charge throughout the first round posting IDS'18 IDS'18 numbers in five games, while Kyle O'Brien wasn't far behind with 7-10-17 numbers... If the Warriors draw Peterborough Peterborough in the next round, it will be a rematch between last season's quarter- finalists, which the Lakers won in seven LINDSAY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY 19th Annual Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006 9:30 am ■ 7:00 pm at the Lindsay Central Exhibition Grounds IS] ColbomeSficelW. 8 u Lindsay Cental Exhibition Grounds XM'tîYindafclirg J < KenlSlrcelW.
