Devils not so bad on the field CLARINGTON - The Darlington Devils Devils girls' soccer team, in its inaugural season season as an all-star team in Durham, played up to expectations and beyond. These Devils are really not that bad, comprised of promising 13-year-old soccer soccer enthusiasts from within the Durham area. This year's team included players from Bowmanville, Courtice, Newcastle and Pontypool that play house league soccer soccer for Darlington Soccer Club. The Devils All-Star team took to the field this year and played outstanding at six tournaments within Ontario. They played two tournaments at their own under-13 age group and an impressive four tournaments up a level at under-14. Despite their young age the girls are keen, aggressive, motivated motivated and proud to represent the Darlington Soccer Club. The team generated 17 points in tournament play: three wins with scores of 1-0, three scoreless draws and five other lies. "The players took us to some dizzying heights along an exciting journey with their performance in All-Star tournament play for 2006," says John Coker, team manager. The team was sponsored by Tim Hortons Hortons Courtice, who assisted in promoting promoting tournament youth soccer in Ontario. Team coaches were Val Nufrio and Mike O'Meara, Angie Penfound, who worked with the keepers. Sherry Bonazza and Kathleen Pasquet also helped bring a strong Ajl-Star program to fruition.
