Mayor Mutton was charged in June with tire two counts of assault, most details of which are protected by a publication ban. But, how great a iole the charges played in the defeat of the incumbent really depends on who you ask. Jim Schell, who had served as Regional Ward 1 and 2 Councillor and made an attempt at tire mayor's seat this time around, said tire charges played a "huge role" in tire outgoing mayor's mayor's defeat. "Yes, they played a huge role. I think they did," said Conn. Schell. . ' "Knocking on doors ... almost consistently that was part of the conversation.. John Mutton , "It's kind of a shanre, because I thought people would have been more concerned about tire issues," he said. But, for the defeated defeated mayor, it wasn't as clear-cut. The charges "must have played some role, but there obviously was an attitude attitude for change because if the charges played that ' much of a role, Councillor Councillor Jim Schell would have been elected because he has a track record as well." ' Mayor Mutton clearly has seen some impact from tire charges. "I'm looking forward to some time off, and not being in the public eye is one of tire biggest things I want to see for tire next while," he said.
