- In 1851 Joseph Arundel Philp (died 1865) and his son (1826-1911), of the same name, built this one and a half story wood house, sheathed in stucco. They had arrived from England in 1832. Both were plasterers. Joseph Arundel Philp Sr. was married to Eleanor Winn (1805-1855). The house was later owned by William Thomas, followed by Maria Stanton.
