Bedworth The Annual Christmas Tree at Bed- worth School Friday evening, Decem- 'ber 23, was a decided success, The ' evening itself could not have been bet- "ter, and a great number turned out t to see the programme which was well prepared. Rev. R A Smith, of the Anglican Church, ably acted as Chairman. There were four splendid dialogues, two of which were very comical. The one called "The Paper Angel" caused much laughter, while Doctor Funnybones' Hospital as well as being amusing was educational. The singing was especi- ally well rendered and much thanks is due to Mrs Percy Bicknell for her capable training of the pupils in singing. The teacher and pupils on behalf of the school wish to thank everyone who helped to make the evening a success. We appreciate Mr Smith acting as Chairman, Mrs Bicknell for her organ, Mrs McMillan for her splendid recita- tions, Mr Frank Bicknell for his musi- cal selections, Mr Blake for being door- keeper, Mrs H Wilkinson for her able assistance in dressing the children for the different dialogues, etc., and of course Santa Claus for not forgetting Bedworth school. He seemed to be in good humour and was exceptionally good to the boys and girls, Of course they were all glad to see him, and did not regret at all that this behaviour was of the best the past year. They were a great credit to the school in all their parts. The school looked very pretty and the stage was arranged as a cosy house with fireplace and all, The Star Drill by ten girls excited great admiration. = They were all ar- ranged as fairies with a silver star on the forehead and on their wands. Mr Bert Lyon had a nasty fall last week, resulting in a broken rib, W K Potier arrived from Winnipeg Sunday to spend the winter here. Sunday morning, January first, Special hursday night December 22nd, in the school room, which was befittingly decorated for the occasion.
