Clestine McHatten, Loyola Graduate, Killed in Crash [heading] Clestine McHatten, 23, was instantly killed in an automobile accident near Kenosha, Wis., early Saturday morning, June 21. The body was taken to the home of his parents at Hollendale, Wis., where the funeral and interment took place. Mr. McHatten had made his home with his uncle, Lloyd N. Carter, 1430 Lake avenue, Wilmette, while attending Loyola Medical school, from which he had just graduated. Early on the morning of his death he started with Mr. Carter for Hollendale, where Mrs. Carter and children were visiting, to bring them home. Mr. Carter was driving the car. Because of foggy weather he did not see that he was nearing the road's end and must make a turn, with the result that the car struck an abandoned stucco roadhouse which stod in line with the road. The car plowed its way through the building, forcing it four feet off its foundation and demolishing the interior. Mr. Carter was thrown clear of the wreck, but Mr. McHatten was instantly killed. Mr. Carter was removed to the Kenosha Hospital, where he was found to have sustained fractures of eight ribs, one of which penetrated a lung, besides many serious cuts and lacerations. He is said to be now recovering and it is expected that he will be brought home this week. Mrs. Carter has been with him at Kenosha since the accident.
