- Description
- Carte de visite of two very young children in short dresses. The older child is sitting on a stool while the younger one is obviously sitting on an adult's lap. The adult is hidden under an ornate coverlet or tapestry, a studio prop. This type of image is often referred to as a "hidden mother photograph", which was a common type of photography in the Victorian era.
