- Description
- Louis – or Luigi according to the census and immigrant records - came to Huntsville in 1906 when his friend Pietro Bollei (Peter Boley) returned to Meana Di Susa, Italy to bring his family to Canada. Luigi worked at C.O. Shaw’s Anglo Canadian Leather Company in Huntsville with Boley. C.O. Shaw was so impressed with their work that, in 1913, they were sent back to Italy to recruit more men to work in the Tannery. Emma and Mary joined Luigi in 1910, the rest of the children were born here.
