This is Richard Shaw son of Ann Rogerson Shaw and John Shaw of Yorkshire England. Richard was born in Swine E Yorkshire in early 1824 and was christened at St. Mary's Church Feb 27 1824. He moved with his parents and siblings to Quebec in about 1830 and the family lived in Argenteuil for many years. His parents eventually joined him and some of his siblings in Smiths Falls in 1864. Richard was a blacksmith. Richard married Hannah (who may have been Hannah WILSON since their first child is named John or Jack Wilson Shaw). She apparently died quite young. Richard then married (about 1855) Mary JOHNSON who was from Ireland. Mary was born 1834 and died 1891. She is buried with Richard and his parents in St John's Cemetery Smiths Falls.
Richard and Mary had the following children:
1. Annie Jane b 1855 d Nov 5 1874 buried St John's Smiths Falls
2. James Henry b 1857. He is listed in 1871 as living at home but a painter by trade.

He married Barbara CONDIE (he may have married two different women by this name!) and later Christina CAMPBELL (called Tina). He and Tina are buried in St John's Smiths Falls.
