This picture was taken in 1880 of Anna Rogerson Shaw, aged 81 years and was taken by the J. Moore Photographer, Smith's Falls, Ont. Anna had sent this photo to Watertown, NY where her son and his wife Stephen and Barbara Snell Shaw were living. Anna was the wife of John Shaw. They both came from England and first settled in St. Andrews, Argenteuil, Quebec. They had 13 children. The first seven children were born in England. The rest were all born in Canada. Some of their children stayed in Quebec, some settled in Smith's Falls, and some went to Watertown, NY. I haven't located where all of their children ended up living. John and Anna Rogerson Shaw moved from Quebec and settled in Smith's Falls, where they lived out the rest of their lives. - Notes
- Comment submitted (January 2023): "This is a picture of my 3rd great grandmother. She came to Canada sometime between 1829 and 1831. I do not know when exactly she moved to Smiths Falls, but she is in the 1881 Canadian Census living with my great-great grandfather, Richard Shaw. I was very excited to find this photo."
