The Record News, 6 October 1887 noted the following:
"Miss Weir and Miss O’Hara left on Tuesday for Kingston to enter Queen’s University to study medicine. Miss O’Hara is preparing for missionary work in Japan. She was a member of the Presbyterian choir here, and before leaving she was presented with a purse of money and a handsome bible by her friends of that church and of the Methodist church." - Inscriptions
