Notes
The plaque reads: "This Scherzer Rolling Lift bascule bridge was renowned for its ground breaking technology and currently stands as one of the few remaining bridges of its kind left in Canada. Built by the Dominion Bridge Company in 1912-1913 for the Canadian Northern Railway, the bridge was designated to operate either manually or with an electric motor. Although the bridge closed down in 1978, its proud history remains preserved after being designated a National Historic Site in 1983."
