Williamson, D. Du of Mt. Forest, delivered a very in- structive and impressive address on the plebiscite, Sunday afternoon in the Presbyterian church. There was a fair attendance. The Dr. is down on the fellow who will not vote. Mr. and Mrs. E. Yeo, of London, and formerly of this village, were the guests of W. J. Sharp during the latter part of last week. The improvements at Methodist church and parsonage are now about completed. The painting was done by Messrs. Drummond Powdrell. of Mt. Forest, and reflects great credit on them as artists. Diedâ€"on Saturday, 24th inst., the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Healy aged 4 weeks. Rev. Mr. Edmunds. of Rothsay, and the Rev. J. M Millex exchanged pulpits last Sabbath. The Rev. D. Mather. our veteran barn builder, has secured the contract of erecting two in Proton and is busily engaged there now. Mr. A. J. Neil lathed and plaster- ed the upstairs of Mr. W. Anderson’s stone house and also d.d a smail job for Mr. Conner. Mrs. J. Waters, late of the Central Hotel, Durham, Spent a few days with her parents Mr. and Mrs. J ‘, McKinnon ere she joined her husband at their home in Dundalk. That capital farm hand Mr. Robt. Ashe left home on Saturday and did not return until Monday Mrs. McPherson did not accompany him on account of having to look after the store and Post Office . Mr. and Mrs. M. Campbell might well be proud of their two sons John and Dan, of Pittsburg, Pennsylyania, who paid the parental home a brief visit last week. They are industri- ous young men and are employed in the iron works, but never neglect to take a run over to gladden the hearts of the old folks at home although at times their visit has to be necessarily brief. Mr. J. McVicar, one of our most successful farmers, is digging a well on his premises near the house. It is on high ground overlooking the delving in the right place. -vâ€" râ€". The Allan Park Band is dissolved and will be a thing offithe past, as Mr. John Collett, leader ever since its organization. left last week for B. C.
