Aljoe, Sr.. celebrated their golden wedding in the presence of a houseiull of im- mediate relatives, and Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson. Mr.' and Mrs. S. Scott. Dr. and Miss Culbertson. Mr J. P. Whelan and Miss Mary Lame. Mr. Aljoe came to this country from Ireland in 1832 when only 7 years of age. About 1838 Miss Ann Matthews, the present- Mrs. Aljoe. arrived also from Ireland. Mr. Al- joe and Miss Matthews became ï¬rsn acquainted at Churchville, and like lots of young people the acquaint- anceship grew into affecrion. In 1849, on the 2Ist of December, the two became one, being united in marriage by Rev. Mr. Mitchell at the reidence. of Dean Grassett, Tor- onto, For some time Mr and Mrs. Aljoe lived at. Chm'chville and Stewarrtown till about forty one years ago they move-d into Glenelg and settled on Lot 1. Con. 4. S. D.
