One child fdied in infancy and their daughter 'Mgrgaret.' (Mrs. A. Butter.) died on Oct. 18th. 1883, so that the total ‘ number born to them “as twelve. 4 were born in Scotland namely Irving Maggie, John, and George. and 8 in Canada namely. James, Alex., Thos.. Isabella, Mary, Martha, Lavina. and the infant not named. All are mar- ried with the exception of 3 sons. lSome cf the family reside at distant ?points and could nOt possibly arrive tin time {or the funeral. 0f the liv- iing 4 sons reside in Glenelg. l in Michigan and l in Dawson vicinity, while 1 daughter resides in Vancouv- er. Toronto and Durham before settling on lot ‘19. con. 6, in 1855. Up to about a year ago the departed ’ scarcely knew what it was to be ill, ' out last winter he contracted a ‘ severe cold which settled on his j lungscausing conjestion. The family ' physician then held out little hope , of complete racovery. During the warmer season he was apparently better. but as soon as the cold wenth-n er again approached "his old trouble returned. and proved too much for a man of his years.
