A week ago Monday morning this neighborhood was startled with sud- den surprise on learning of the death of Mr. Henry Dennett who had been ill but a few days with inflammatory rheumatism which had developed into spinal meningitis. Deceased was fifty.three years and nine mos. of age. He was born and lived ever since on the farm where died, it be- ing the old homestead where eight of a family was raisedâ€"seven sons and one daughter. On arriving at manhood he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Thompson, of I‘urn- berry, and as aresult of the union five daughters are left with a wi- dowed mother to mourn the loss of a kind father and husband. One son died in infancy. He wasa Metho «list in religion and a member of the Varney L. O. L. No. 689. His past- or. Rev. Mr Masson, preached the funeral sermon in the church and performed the duties at the grave side. The Orange brethren also per‘ formed their last sad rites to their departed brother. Messrs.
