Its Healing Air Reaches Every Tis- sue of Nose. Throat and Lungs. HYOMEI KILLS CATARRHAL GERMS. All the stomach dosing in the world cannot do any actual good in the treatment of catarrhal troubles. unless the nose and throat are com pletely free from catarrhal germs, and the poison that they produce. Hyomei is Nature’s truo cure for catarrh. It destroys all germs in the air passages and lungs, scathes and heals the irritated mucous membrane, and eï¬ectually drives from the sys tem all traces of the poison. When using the Hyomei treatment, the air you breathe is like that on the Moun l tains, high above the sea level, where‘ the pine woods fill the air with puri tying and healing qualities that give health and strength to those suï¬er ing from diseases of the respiratory organs. Breathed through the neat pocket inhaler that comes withgevery outï¬t. the healing air of Hyomei reaches every tissue of nose, throat and lungs, and immediate relief is given, and a permanent cure is soon l made. truggle is the school of strength The complete Hyomei ontï¬s. con sisting of an inheier, medicine drop per. and one home of Hyomei, costs only 81.00. exun battles 50 cents. Hamburg. March 23.â€"Several years ago a wealthy lady. 73 years old, liv- ing in the suburb of Altona, replied to a matrimonial advertisement, and ir. this way made the acquaintance of a Danish merchant named peter son. aged 45. Peterson was subse quently a frequent visitor at the fashionable villa of the old lady who always received him with great hospitality. and often supplied him with money. One day whenPeter son. who was at the villa, was con-i {tinted by a lull? who claimed to be '11.; wife. he threatened suicide. There was a Stirring scene. which ï¬nally ended. however, in Mrs. Pet erson agreeing to seek a divorce from her husband on receiving a large sum of money from the old lady. As a consequence the couple were married, and Peterson took his _ aged bride to COpenhagen. where he. bought a villa at. a cost of 310.000 From the ï¬rst day of their wedded life Peterson treated his wife with great brutai‘ny. On one occasion he handed her a. rope and a. loaded re volver, {toiling her either to shoes or hang herself, as she was a mere nuis- ance. When this had gone-on for some time the old lady had succeed ed in escaping..ahd found her way to Hamburg, where, after telling her story to the police. she was placed in the hOSpital. There she made a will, leaving everything to her niece Peterson follo'Wed. his wife, but was arrested by the Hamburg police. and must. now undergo trial. To the Editor of The News: Anent the proposal of the Ontario Govern- ment to change the County Council Act, it seems to me the proposal in the bill before the Assembly is a de~ cidedly retrograde Step. The present arrangement has reduced the c05t of County Council government ver) materially. it has reduced the evil of the sectional idea. that prevailed under the old system to a minimum. and has been so satisfactory that novt achange of Government has taken place there is really no demand for the change. The old cry in the time of the Ross regime has died out fo: the want of a “raison d’etre.†Tbel proposition to increase the number of County Councillors by about sixty percent. means sixty per cent. in crease in the cost of county govern. ment as to give each municipality a Councillor, and an additional Council lor if the municipa:ity has 1,000 v0ters, is also a weak arrangement. and in some cases will work unlairly. because it practically means that a municipality with 999 voters will be entitled to one representative on and a municpality with 1.001 vcte s will be entitled to two representa tives. end so on per 1,000 voters. SAID SHE WAS A NUISANCE. If any charge is made I would suggest that each municipality han- one representative only. and that he have a vote {or each 100. 200. or 300 voters in his municipality (as deem: d advmable) This would give fair play all round, and be as near “rep." by â€pop.†as could be obtained. W. T. Bailey. Mr. I. B. Lucas, the pepular mem ber of the Legislature for Centre Grey, on Tuesday last received this mention in "The Gallary Clockâ€! column of the Toronto Star: “ The: Clock does not fail to notice that, young Mr. Lucas of Centre Grey is a favorite chairman when the House is in committee. The frequency with which he is called to this post of honor is taken to mean that he will be the next Speaker. Youth will be .served. This world belongs to the ,young men. as the next world he 'longs to :the old. Although Mr. Lucas is known as the Boy Orator. he is no callow stripling. He has the usual number of wisdow teeth. and" time, while careful of him, has be- gun to trace a few crowsfeet round his eyes. In 1909 he will be three years older. and of full senatorial age. a ï¬tting successor to St. John the magniï¬cent. though lacking his pride of port. The Clock hepes that Lucas will never feel a day older than he looks. May the hair of his Ibead never grow less. May it never lbecome an early grey through shak- ing the furnace. May his cherub face be always round and rosy. and may the liquid dew of youth lighten ibis eye to extreme old age. Lucas icomes from Markdale, the home of [Dr. Sproule. This alone picks him out for a great destiny. Grey Coun~ ty is a mocher of lions." Rep. by Pop. in County Councils.
