The funeral took place to Markdale cemetery on Mon- day. After being ill for some time with consumption there passed away on Saturday last at his home at Ceylon Mr. Ali Jones, son of the late Mr. Ebenezer Jones. The deceased who was '24 years of age was married a year and half ago to a Miss Allen, whose numerous friends deeply sympathize with her in her bereave- ment. The funeral took place to the public cemetery here on Monday afternoon. Rev. G. C. Littie con- ducted the burial service. ing service at Rockvale was taken by Rev Vansickle who is assisting in special services. Mr. G. A. Watson completed his cut of logs and other timber last week and moved his portable mill to Proton where he has a big contract. Mr. Artley’s stone crusher is at work preparing stone for the im- provement of the roads in this vicin ity. Last week Councillors Carson and Best had material prepared and this week the machine is on Council lor McKenzie’s division. The service in the Methodist church on Sunday morning was in charge of the W. M. S. and was very efficiently conducted by Mrs. Jos. Clinton. Mrs. W. A. Armstrong gave the financial statement for the year of local branch and Mrs W. H Bunt read an excellent report pre pared by Mrs. W. J. Boyd. delegate to the recent W. M. S. Convention in Toronto. Mr. R. W. Ennis, of Markdale occupied the pulpit in the evening. Mr. W. Heath supplied at Meaford Road in the afternoon. In the Presbyterian church Com munion service was held.
