The deceased was a cheerful, beautiful, old lady or 82 years and was much loved by all who knew her. She was always smart and able to go around.until about two months ago. In spite of the best, medical attendance and‘ ,faithful nursing and care, she grad- ually grew weaker. She wasn’t fafraid to die, but was anxious to .depart. as to be with Christ is far better. Mrs. McCallum was born in Wakefield. England. in 1843, and came. to Canada with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David F awcett when a child. 'She was married in 1871 to Mr. Neil McCallum who predeceased her 20 years ago. She and her late husband were baptized by Rev. Mr. Barker and became members of the Rentinek Baptist church. It consisted of selections by the Dundahk Band, the Swinton Park pipe band, Highland dancing by the M’cGregor brothers and James Reid, the noted comedian, and other num- bers. Dr. L. G. Campbell, of Mark- dale, was also present and was called upon for an address and gave a ,good recitation which met with great applause. The Doctor is the Conservative candidate for Southeast Grey and is getting acquainted with the electors of the riding and ap- parently making hosts of friends. Hon.
